CARIMO Cell has been setup at the Systems and Control Engineering Group, IIT Bombay in the year 2008. “CARIMO” stands for Control, Automation, Reliability, Instrumentation, Measurement, and Optimization. The main objective of this cell is to cover key facets of industrial technology in these areas.
CARIMO cell offers various training programs and executes consultancy projects for industries. The Cell has several distinguished experts from both academia and industry as its members. In the training programs, an application specific training approach is followed in order to maintain the orientation, while preserving the interest of the participants. The programs feature industry specific modules, practical relevance to work, knowledge as well as skill based approaches, and exposure to state of the art technology.
Various training programs have been offered by CARIMO members to top industries such as Bharat Petroleum, BHEL, Century Rayon, Cipla, ECIL, Hindustan Petroleum, Indian Aluminum, Indian Oil, IPCL, ISPAT Steel industries, Klocner & Windsor, L & T, Lupin, Lubrizol, Mazgaon Dock, National Fertilizer, Nuclear Power Corporation, ONGC, Ranbaxy, Reliance Industries, and Suzlon. More than 700 participants benefited from the courses.
The latest CARIMO program was “A course on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)”, for which about 100 participants and 20 speakers from Science, Engineering, Clinical, and Operational fields are involved. The program was offered at IIT Bombay through the CEP and QIP office.
