Day 1: Arrive Aurangabad, excursion to Ellora

Today morning you will arrive at Aurangabad and check-in to your hotel. Later in the afternoon you will drive to Ellora. It is world famous for the largest single monolithic excavation in the world, the great Kailasa (Cave 16). The caves are hewn out of the volcanic basaltic formation known as ‘Deccan Trap’. Carved between 350 AD and 700 AD, the Ellora Caves are wonderful pieces of history representing three faiths - Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism. The total number of these caves is 34, out of which 12 are Buddhist. However, one can observe that even the Buddhist Caves have reference to the Hindu and Jain faith, and demonstrate the gradual decline of Buddhism. The ceilings of the caves bear paintings and geometrical patterns while the walls and pillars of the caves have various sculptures and mural depicting scenes from Lord Buddha's life. Also visit the Ghrishneshwar Temple – one of 12 Jyotirlingas which is very close to the Ellora caves. 

Thereafter visit the Devgiri Fort at Daulatabad. This magnificent 12th century fortress was given the name Daulatabad, the 'city of fortune', by Muhammad Tughlaq, Sultan of Delhi. One of the world's best preserved fort of medieval times, surviving virtually unaltered, Daulatabad yet displays the character that made it invincible. The strategic defenses of this fort are very strong, usually not seen in many forts in India.

Day 2: Excursion to Ajanta (105 Kms/ 2.5 hours one-way)

Today morning after breakfast you will drive to Ajanta. Ajanta, a UNESCO world heritage site, is famous for its Buddhist rock-cut cave temples and monasteries with their extraordinary wall paintings. The temples are hollowed out of granite cliffs on the inner side of a 20-meter ravine in the Wagurna River valley at a site of great scenic beauty. Although the sculpture, particularly the rich ornamentation of the chaitya pillars, is noteworthy, it is the fresco-type paintings that are the chief interest of Ajanta. The paintings are executed on a ground of mud-plaster in the tempera technique.

Day 3: Depart

Today morning you will check-out and transfer to Aurangabad airport. Tour concludes.

Cancellation:

If the client cancels the tour for what so ever reason, the cancellation must be intimidated in writing. Cancellation of air tickets / train tickets will be charged as per actual with our services charges. Cancellation against the land arrangements including the hotel booking will attract following cancellation charges:
